ann christy - mixed media textile artist
I am a textile artist living and working in the North of England.
My sources of inspiration come from, the landscape, in particular the coast, the sea and sand, the countryside and my garden, architecture, weathered and eroded surfaces and wrought ironwork,
I love to create texture in my work.
To achieve the desired effects I use a range of mixed media techniques as well as machine embroidery, hand embroidery, needle lace, tatting and beading.
I am a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild, and former tutor of the School of Stitched Textiles, Mawdesley, Lancashire having taught City & Guilds Creative Computing into Stitched Textiles for several years.
I have also been a part-time tutor at Alston Hall, Longridge, Preston teaching classes in Image Manipulation using Photoshop Elements, Machine Embroidered Brooches and Little Works of Art.
I now spend much of my time working on my brooches which are on sale at several venues across the UK, pieces of wall art and my Little Works of Art.
